Special Stitches
back post double crochet (US back post single crochet) | Insert your hk back to front around the next st post inserting it to the right of the st and back into the left, pull up a loop and finish your dc in the usual way. |
standing back post double crochet (US standing back post single crochet) | Make a slip knot on your hk, hold this in place on the hk and insert your hk back to front around the next st post inserting it to the right of the st and back into the left, pull up a loop and finish your dc in the usual way. |
invisible join | Pull through the yarn and thread onto a tapestry needle. Thread under the ‘v’ of the 2nd stitch of the round and pull through yarn. Thread the needle back into the bl and 3rd loop of the last st to form a ‘v’. Secure and FO. This method creates a ‘fake’ st over the 1st st of the round. It has a neater finish and doesn’t affect the final st count. |
picot | Ch2, ss into the 2nd ch from hk. |
